The Large Scale Structure of the Orion Nebula Star Formation Region

Charles Robert O’Dell (Dept of Physics and Astronomy, Vanderbilt University, USA)

As the closest region of massive star formation, the Orion Nebula presents
a unique opportunity for studying a bright HII region. It also allows one
to determine how the initial formation of stars affects the surrounding region
and secondary stages of star formation. All this is made possible by creating
an accurate 3-D model of the Nebula.
