Effective timescales for embedded clusters

Hui-Chen Chen (GEPI)

By large set of N-body simulations, we found out that the evolution of the embedded clusters under dispersion of parent molecular clouds depends on the initial mass profile between the clusters and the clouds, which we called "cluster-cloud mass ratio". Therefore, for embedded clusters, we proposed that the effective timescales, like crossing time and relaxation time, should be defined in terms of the cluster-cloud mass ratio. In this work, we will present the relation between the evolution of embedded cluster and the cluster-cloud mass ratio and try to explain the effective timescales.
