A multi-wavelength study of Early-Type Galaxies in clusters and in the field

Pasquale Panuzzo (CEA, Saclay)

I will report on the work done by our team on the study of early type
galaxies in both clusters and the field using Spitzer, GALEX and
optical observations.

I will mainly concentrate on the new view that Spitzer data is offering
us on early type galaxies. Indeed the MIR window is particularly
interesting for the presence of the emission from the silicate-rich dust
in circumstellar envelopes of AGB stars and of a pletora of features
emitted by the ISM.
Spitzer observations allows us to both study the stellar populations
from a new prospective and to characterize the physical processes active
in early-type galaxies nuclei.
